The Sound of Our Water web site is part of UNESCO's Young Digital Creators programme. The purpose of the web site is to provide young people an online platform to reflect on water issues, either connected to their daily life or related to specific issues such as environment, culture, industry or agriculture.
Through this programme young people will be invited to compose soundscapes and music pieces on water with a collection of sound samples using creative digital tools. The web site is a meeting point for sharing experiences and exchanging ideas among the participants that come from different cultural background.
With this open interdisciplinary approach the project is expected to help integrate new methodologies of art education into such school subjects as biology, geography, social science, culture and international cooperation.
The resources of the Sound of Our Water web site are open to everybody. In order to upload sound samples and music compositions, and to participate in the intercultural discussions you must be a registered user of the web site. To take part in the programme you may contact your local UNESCO school or club.
