This is a CD-ROM kit for UNESCO Young Digital Creators project's teachers and moderators. From below you will find selection of free editing software for your use in your creative projects. There are tools for editing audio, images and web pages.

Furthermore this CD-ROM comes with more than 90 audio sample files, which you are free to use in your projects.

Note to Linux users: The Linux packages here are source packages that you should be able to compile and install on your own computer. Each package contains instructions on compiling. In most cases, however, it's easier to use a prepackaged version for your Linux distribution. If you have network connectivity, take a look at the software home pages for download links. You could also check your Linux distribution's software installation system (apt, rpm, yum), which is the easiest way to install software.

Free audio editing software

GIMP is a good software for such tasks as photo retouching, image composition and image authoring. This CD-ROM includes GIMP 2.2.10. You can visit GIMP homepage to check for the latest version.

Inkscape is a vector graphics editor that is good for creating web graphics, technical diagrams, icons, creative art, logos, maps. This CD-ROM includes Inkscape 0.43. You can visit Inkscape homepage to check for the latest version.

Tux Paint is a free drawing program designed for young children. It has a simple, easy-to-use interface, fun sound effects, and an encouraging cartoon mascot who helps guide children as they use the software. Free web page editing software

Freemind requires Java Runtime Environment 1.4 or higher. If it is not already installed you have to download it from Java homepage.
